Our Management Team
It may surprise you to know that most of our team members were hired from outside the logistics industry. That’s not by accident.
The company was formed by Burlington, Ontario, Canada native Randy Stanbury after he realized that logistics and trucking experts are not necessarily good at communication and service – the very things he knew that shipping clients wanted the most. So we set out to be the best company in the industry at communicating and keeping clients informed – customer service logistics.
We hire based on strength, not skill. We look for people who love details and are great at follow up and communication. Each candidate is tested to determine an accurate map of an individual's natural instincts. We hire based on what people do naturally, and what they enjoy. It marries people with jobs they love. We all know the results of people that love their job.
Our expert logistics team is a group of reformed social workers, mortgage brokers, executive assistants, pharmacist technicians and retail managers for whom customer service logistics is both an aptitude and a wild passion.
Kelly Browning – Supply Chain Services
I was born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, moved around a bit and settled back in my hometown to raise my family. At Service Freight, I’m responsible for the Operations Department. That means I work closely with the logistics team to manage the day’s complexity and ensure everything gets done in a timely matter, that no details have been missed and that we end the day with happy clients, shippers, consignees, and teammates.
When I’m not working, I focus on quality family time as there never seems to be enough of it. I’m best known for having passion for my job and being able to think outside the box.
Tara Mulla, CPA, CGA – Controller
I was born and raised in India. My favourite way to spend time is to be with family, whether at home or out and about. At Service Freight, I’m responsible for the Accounting & Finance Dept. That means I am responsible for overlooking all billings, payments, budgets & preparation of Financial Statements – the financial well-being of our company – so we can continue serving our valuable clients & carriers.
I am passionate about my work, my team members & all the milestones we continue to achieve.
Lisa Pope– Operations Manager
I grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and moved to Burlington over 25 years ago and I still live here. I am responsible for the operations at Service Freight, which means I juggle priorities while maintaining exceptional and supportive client service expectations on our operations team. You can usually find me at home with my family or shopping. I’m a real homebody! I am known at the office for being friendly and chatty with everyone!
Randy Stanbury – Founder and Owner
I grew up in Burlington, Ontario and I liked it so much, I’ve never left. At Service Freight, I’m responsible for bringing innovative ideas, concepts and solutions that propel the company forward. That means I stay focused on the long-term goals of the company.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me outdoors enjoying life and spending time with my daughters. I’m best known for my inspiration, vision and making things happen with great people.
Rob Ten Brinke – President
I grew up on a farm on the Stoney Creek Mountain and have moved between the country and Hamilton, Ontario in the years since. At Service Freight, I’m responsible for leading the charge. That means I work closely with SFS leaders in Client Development, Operations, Administration and Client Services to hunt for the best possible solutions, cost savings and outcomes for clients, carriers and people.
I love motorcycling, being poolside with a cooler and friends, and hanging out with my son. If you’ve seen me, you’ve probably seen my backpack — I could never give it up. I’m best known for my quickness and problem-solving skills.
Shelly Van Poppel – Client Development
I grew up in Hamilton and still live there today. At Service Freight I am responsible for digging in to find the right solutions. I get pleasure from the results that I help clients achieve and fully invest myself 100%. This means that I consult both clients of SFS and staff members in streamlining processes and logistics solutions to move goods efficiently and seamlessly over the road throughout North America. I thrive on creating imaginative approaches to unique logistics challenges.
My favourite pastime is spending time with friends, swimming, sunning and sharing knowledge on essential oils. I’m best known for my ability to be organized, stay calm, always see the “bright side,” and my extreme love of animals.
